Turning Static Prints into Interactive Experiences

For their latest campaign, Desperados partnered with emerging artists to craft unique visual pieces.
These artworks became the backdrop for posters, bar stands, and other promotional materials, with the beer bottle taking center stage.
To elevate this creative effort, Desperados together with UNI_VERSE studios, sought to add a digital layer using interactive technology.
Orb Amsterdam was brought in to make this vision a reality.

Bringing Art to Life with Seamless Interaction

We created a WebAR-powered activation that transformed static campaign prints into immersive, interactive touchpoints.

Users scanned a QR code and pointed their phones at the posters. A portal effect would emerge from the artwork, revealing the Desperados bottle in vivid 3D. With a tap on the screen, a dynamic ‘pop’ effect triggered a burst of animated visuals inspired by the specific artwork, creating an engaging and shareable moment that extended beyond traditional media.

Optimizing for Performance and Impact

To make this possible, we collaborated with UNI_VERSE Studios to optimize 3D elements for WebAR. Each piece of artwork featured fluid, high-detail designs that we carefully adapted to run smoothly in-browser without losing visual impact. The Desperados bottle, as the focal point, was crafted with high visual fidelity despite WebAR’s resource constraints. Leveraging 8th Wall technology, we ensured a frictionless experience: no downloads, just instant interaction.
